Rose, Maxine, Addie, & Tina     One of the visitors who often acted as translator for us was petite Rose Mkemwa. She also is a member at the Cathedral, but she lives in Dar es Salaam, where she teaches English to 14-19 year old students. Rose is a niece of the bishop of Dodoma, Bishop Peter Mwamasika, who has also been a guest here inSifa & Rose at fireworks northwest Ohio. She is married to a manager of communications and has five children. We were impressed with Rose's elaborate hairdo, which you can see in the picture taken at the fireworks picnic.

Another guest who spoke English well was Salome Kingu (Sally)  She is a member of Mnadani Parish, where she is a church elder. She and her husband are retired and have a small farm. They have five children and one grandchild. Sally is an important contact person, as she has e-mail and keeps us up-to-date on the Dodoma Women's Project.Joyce and Betty

Joyce Makala, (Joy), is also a member of Mnadani Parish, where she is part of the women’s group and sings in the choir. She owns a small business in Dodoma, Majabesa Printpark, after retiring six years ago as secretary to the Prime Minister. She has four children. She too has e-mail, but, oh! those phone lines to Dodoma are so slow!

Beatty & Mary    Another visitor from Mnadani Parish was Beatty Ntolela (Betty). She and her husband have a family business. She has six children and six grandchildren.

Eva and Sifa Evangelina Mamuya  (Eva) was the tall one of our visitors. She is a teacher and a widow, and had two children.  Her son-in-law, Godwin  Mtui (Goody) also was part of the group (a bass for the choir).  He is a member of Kondoa Parish, where he is on the financial committee. He is a graduate of Aya Lutheran Secondary School. He has a trucking business in Dodoma.

The last member of the delegation was Peter Mungo, who is also a member of Kondoa Parish. He is a medical assistant. He and his wife have a private medical clinic. They have two children.
