MISSION GROWTH
Our purpose is to provide a variety of learning experiences which
strengthen each woman as a whole person, develop her potential, and equip
her for ministry. Mission:Growth enables and encourages women to share the
good news and witness to the Gospel in daily life; provides opportunities
for women to develop their gifts for leadership; and produces educational
and programmatic resources for use by congregations, synodical women’s
organizations and individuals.

Bible study
- Encourage your women to participate in regular Bible study.
The Women of the ELCA Bible study is found in Lutheran
Women Today. *see below. We are presently studying the book of
Genesis.
Program Resources
- Check the Program Resource packet for
ideas. *see below
Global
Mission
- Stories and inspiration from our overseas companions - check our
synod speaker's bureau.
Spring Assemblies
- An opportunity in each conference that will have a mixed program with
such things as worship, communion, speakers, singing and fellowship.
These events are held in the spring.
Retreats -
Gathering with other Christian women in retreat can be a profoundly
moving experience. Check Upcoming Events
for information on retreats in your area, which are often held in the
fall.
Leadership gatherings
- Check Upcoming Events for information on
training events in your area. Training for unit officers is
usually held in the fall.
Spiritual Gatherings
- An inspirational gathering of women from the synods in our region,
which is held occasionally when other conventions are not
scheduled. The next Gathering will be held July 30-31, 2004 in
Lima, Ohio. More

Lutheran Woman Today
- The magazine of Women of the ELCA, published ten
times yearly. This
award winning magazine is full of inspirational articles as well as the
Women of the ELCA Bible Study. One year subscription $11.00, 2 years

- One of our members, Donna Thomas,
will be attending Today’s
Dreams – Tomorrow’s Reality,
an Anti-racism Leadership Seminar in April, 2004. Following the
seminar she will be available to speak to your group or do a workshop. For

Witness of Women, an Evangelism Strategy. Contact Women
